The Sarasota Keys
Several islands (keys) separate Sarasota from the Gulf of Mexico. Today the keys that are considered part of Sarasota are Lido Key, St. Armand's Key, Otter Key, Coon Key, Bird Key, and portions of Siesta Key. Previously, Siesta Key was named Sarasota Key. At one time, Siesta Key and Longboat Key were considered part of Sarasota, but who cares about that.
