Building on his experience from raising horses, Tom has developed his own unique style of horsemanship. He is able to handle young and factitious horses with ease. His ability to read horses and communicate directly in the horse's native language allows him to safely provide hoof care to horses that would otherwise be difficult or dangerous to handle on the ground without resorting to harsh methods of restraint or tranquilizers.

Incorporated in Florida as a non-profit corporation in 1980, the FSFA uniquely stands as one of the American Farrier Association’s oldest state chapters. As Florida’s horse population is largely concentrated in the Hillsborough, Marion, and Palm Beach county areas, our membership’s locations parallel those of their customers. However, with Florida being the 3rd largest state for number of horses, stables are widely dispersed across the state and a strong farrier base can easily be found in any city where quality work is needed.

I have been in the business for over 25 years. I was born in Fort Myers, and raised in Alva, Florida. I trained under a very knowledgeable and expert horseman for 4 years. He was a local trainer and had also shod horses in his lengthy career. I went to Oklahoma Horseshoeing School, attended several clinics on management and handling of horses, attended several clinics with world renowned farriers, and I keep up with continuing education.
